Final image

Out of the three images that I produced I decided the veil with flowers was my strongest image. However the text that I had used didn't look right. I centered the text and changed the colour to white and this looked better but I still wasn't happy with the way it looked, so I used the colours that i used for the flowers (from the rainbow flag) and I think that it works a lot better.

Freedom to shine

The LGBT flag also known as the rainbow flag, the colours are
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Purple

Worlds best known rainbow flag is sometimes called the freedom flag, symbol of LGBT pride and diversity. Designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978, who was a San Francisco artist.
In many places people of the LGBT community still can't have a marriage I decided to do my images focused on this. I used inspiration from the rainbow flag, I also used the colours from the flag in all of my images.
I called these images 'Freedom to shine' because everyone should have the freedom to marry, the flag is sometimes called the 'freedom flag' and also you shine on your wedding day.
The three images could tell a story....

Showing the past -  A person dwelling on the fact that she can't marry her girlfriend while holding her mother's old wedding headpiece.
In this image the colours from the flag are in the nails.
I think that the idea that I had in my head worked out better than it actually did.

Getting ready for the wedding day.
In this image the colours from the flag are in the different colour flower petals. I think that this is my strongest image.

and showing the future - The marriage as candles can represent Christianity.
In this image the colours from the flag are the candles.

I think this image would have been better in low key with the candles lit and if I had straighten the candles.

Research

For me I've never been bothered by other peoples sexual orientation, as a lot of my friends are from the LGBT community. My task is to take a set of images in the studio that celebrates equality and diversity.
Here are some images that I've found

In this images its the typical type of shot that people will think of when talking about sexuality, either two guys kissing or two girls kissing.
In the rainbow flag (used for LGBT social movements) its said that each colour means something.
red: life
orange: healing
yellow: sunlight
green: nature
indigo/blue: serenity/harmony
violet: spirit

In this images on the girls arm is written 'you can't define me' I would like to take inspiration from this and add text to my image. The text could be added in the images before capture (on skin, paper ect.) or in post editing.

I like the symbolic holding hands, as it can be any sexuality/sex/age/race ect. I think it gives a cute timeless feel to the image.

Equality and diversity

Our project is to select a subject from the areas associated with the theme of 'equality and diversity'. We need to create 2/3 images that promote awareness/celebration. These are going to be shot in the studio.

'The Equality Act 2010 replaced all previous equality legislation such as the Race Relations Act, Disability Discrimination Act and Sex Discrimination Act. It also provides some changes about which schools need to be aware.
The Equality Act 2010 provides a single, consolidated source of discrimination law, covering all the types of discrimination that are unlawful. It simplifies the law by removing anomalies and inconsistencies that had developed over time in the existing legislation, and it extends the protection from discrimination in certain areas.' - http://www.education.gov.uk
Subjects associated with the theme of 'equality and diversity' are -
  • Gender
  • Disability
  • Race
  • Religion
  • Faith and belief
  • Age
  • Sexuality

Music inspired images

We got given a task to find a piece of music that created ideas in our minds, then use these ideas to create and produce images. Evanescence - Bring Me To Life (piano cover) This is the sound that I decided to use, from this music I imagine, sad, darkened images.

Brief description - Have a model looking sad, sat down in a park on the grass, then edited on photoshop.
Location - Park
Time and date - Thursday 30th May (model canceled)
Time and date of reshoot - Wednesday 5th June
Team - model
Equipment - camera, make up.

I had everything planned but unfortunately my model had to cancel on me and I couldn't find anyone else to do it in the time.

Here are some image that I took earlier in the year, when I look at these i can see the sadness and this is what I'll like to try recreate into my next set of images in the park, on location rather than in a studio.

Here are some images that I found that are the same type of concept that I had in mind.

Here are my 3 final images, I like the fashion style these have to them, I think the image at the bottom most shows the emotion I wanted.
